Education & Child Development
Education is essential to nurture and develop a sustainable society. As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Our goal is to use this weapon to ensure our children has a bright, confident and change making future.
Nepal’s literacy rate is lower in the rural areas and especially among the female population. Many schools are underfunded, overcrowded and lack quality with high student dropout rates. The private schools that are in the urban areas of Nepal are not affordable and accessible to the children from marginalized families. This just contributes to the ever widening gap between the rich and the poor.
Keeping this in view, SWAN has been supporting both Government and community schools in various areas of education.
